Pisa

Pisa: 2 twin beds and a shared bathroom, but this elegantly worn location had the best continental breakfast (and we mean continental in it's original sense)and the best view. Watch video of the Pisa-Rooftops from the Grand Victoria where Andrew & Reachel stayed.

Vernazza: Finding accommodations in the Cinque Terre was a feat. Reachel e-mailed every lodge in Rick Steve's very helpful guide book and combed the web endlessly. After receiving several dozen "no vacancy" refusals, Edgy (pronounced Ee-gee) not only agreed to accommodate Reachel and Andrew, but picked them up from the train station, long italian curls blowing in the soft ocean breeze. Then proceeded to carry Reachel's bag for her and introduced the couple to his wife Sonia. Shared bathroom or not, this place had the best service and best location right on the main drag.

Florence: The award for nicest room and grounds goes to the Grand Ducato in Florence. Unfortunately it also swept the worst location category. The description claimed that it was only 5 km from Florence, but 12 miles and 30 euros later, we began to wonder about their math. Once we resigned ourselves to their overpriced, captive dining, and exorbitant cab fees, we had a lovely time in Florence.

Cambridge: The Acorn Guest House was everything a British bed and breakfast should be. The day started with a hearty English breakfast: eggs, beans, and toast and offered free WiFi.

London: Overall Reachel was very frugal in her accommodation booking responsibilities. Unfortunately, when she booked their stay in Cambridge and London, she neglected the conversion rate. 1 pound is equivalent to about 2 american dollars. So they ended paying twice what they expected. However, their one night stay in the K West came complete with spa treatments. Andrew relaxed under the hands of a full body massage and Reachel received a mud wrap. After walking an average of 8 miles every day, it was a welcome retreat.
